The Big Block

. . . and the many adobe ruins in the Terlingua Ghost Town . . .

. . . then on to the Contrabando movie set outside of Lajitas.

From there I proceeded up the scenic roller coaster ride of a road known as the River Road (FM 170) . . .

. . . to Presidio, basically a sprawling, one-story sort of border town. In my passage through the town, I came across this "structure" . . .

. . . which, from what I could see could very well have been the very heart of downtown Presidio. It presented graphic possibilities, at any rate -- and it's for sale!
From there I proceeded up Hwy 67 to Marfa to shoot "Prada Marfa" on Hwy 90, an art installation developed by a couple of German artists resembling a solemn shoe store standing solely (ha ha) on the plains, only to find it gone. Crap!
Well, the day wasn't a total photographic loss, I suppose, as I got yet another theater for my collection in Alpine . . .

. . . before snagging groceries at the Food Basket and heading on home, accompanied by the setting sun. Big day!
